Bofors bruk har en historia som började 1646 med tillstånd från det statliga verket Bergskollegium att anlägga järnbruk i Karlskoga. Som brukligt var fanns även ett omfattande jordbruk knutet till järnbruket. Järnbruket utvecklades och tillverkade stångjärn, spadar, gjutgods och många andra produkter.
